For Concerned Parents
Every year that goes by, we cannot reverse.
Myopia is a progressive condition. The window to slow it down is now. Every year that passes narrows our window to change the outcome, and those changes are permanent.
Their eyes are changing now
Myopia progresses year by year as your child's eye is growing. Myopia management is most effective the earlier we intervene.
Higher myopia carries lifelong risk
As myopia increases, the eyeball lengthens. These changes can lead to increased risk of cataracts, glaucoma, and retinal detachments.
Glasses can get in the way
Glasses can fog, slip, and break mid-game. Ortho-K is worn at night only — no treatment needed during the day.
Why Ortho-K answers the concern
Once you know waiting matters, the next question is what actually helps.
Most options manage the symptom. Only one works on the trajectory.

How It Works
Orthokeratology (Ortho-K) uses custom-designed rigid gas-permeable contact lenses worn only while sleeping. Overnight, they gently and temporarily reshape the front surface of the eye (the cornea). In the morning, you remove the lenses — and see clearly throughout the day.
For children, this is more than convenience. Clinical studies consistently show Ortho-K can slow myopia progression by 67% or more compared to standard glasses, reducing long-term risks of glaucoma, cataracts, and retinal detachments.
Ortho-K is non-surgical, non-invasive, and fully reversible. Corneas return to their natural shape within days of stopping the lenses.
Important to know: Ortho-K does not cure myopia. The effect is temporary and requires consistent overnight wear, proper cleaning, and regular follow-up care.
Ortho-K is the only approach that slows myopia progression and leaves nothing on your child’s eyes all day.
Worn only overnight, it manages progression while giving clear, device-free daytime vision — which is why many parents consider it before the prescription climbs again.

Nothing worn during the day
Slows myopia progression
Great for sports & active kids
Clear vision all day
Other myopia-control options exist, including specialty glasses (e.g. MiYOSMART) and soft contact lenses (e.g. MiSight). Ortho-K’s distinct advantage is combining myopia control with all-day freedom — nothing worn while your child is awake.
Your child’s suitability depends on prescription, eye health, corneal shape, and routine.

“I bring a parent’s heart and a doctor’s precision to every family I see.”

What Families Say
Trusted by Ortho-K families across the region
My daughter's myopia is corrected with Ortho K by Dr. Fong. So grateful for her care, patience and professionalism. Will bring our family here for years to come!
Best optometrist in Cambridge! I brought my oldest son in here to get fitted with ortho k lenses and it was the best decision we have made. He doesn't have to wear glasses or contacts during the day anymore! Thankful to have had such a patient and thorough optometrist who clearly explains the best options for us.
Sarah is professional, caring and encouraging and the go to person if you're looking Ortho-k practice! My family and I have been her patients for 4 years ever since she starts her clinic in Windsor. As the first patient of Ortho-k Sarah opened me a new world without glasses after it's tiring me out for 16 years. I was very struggling to put the lenses to my eyes as I had never had contact lens before. With Sarah being so patient and informative, I successfully put it into my eyes in one month. I personally regard it as one of my biggest achievement in my life and it did make my life easier by wearing no glasses! I can also play any sports as I want with no restrictions at all!
